Cookie policy
This website uses strictly necessary cookies only. No tracking, no analytics, no third-party cookies. This page explains exactly what that means.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser and reads again on your next visit. They can be technically necessary — for example to protect a form against misuse or to remember your language choice — or they can be used to observe your behaviour across pages and websites. Only the first kind is used on this website.
All cookies set here come from kachelbunt.at itself. Our handling of personal data more generally is described in the privacy notice.
Why we do not ask for consent
Under section 165(3) TKG 2021, consent is required only where information is stored on or read from your device that is not strictly necessary for the service you have requested. We store no such information. Everything this website places on your device serves security, your language choice, the storage of your cookie decision, moving between pages without a reload, or signing in to the site administration — and is therefore exempt from consent.
The cookie notice shown on your first visit therefore only informs you; it does not collect consent, and your use of the website does not depend on it in any way. Should we one day use a service that is not technically necessary, we will actively ask for your consent beforehand — with equally weighted accept and reject buttons and nothing pre-selected.
Which cookies are set
The table below lists every cookie this website may set, together with its purpose, storage duration and provider. It is not maintained by hand: it is generated at page load from the cookie registry in the website code, so the table and the technology cannot drift apart. What the website stores on your device outside cookies is covered in the next section.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| csrftoken | Cross-site request forgery protection; set on every page because every page carries a form (the language switch) | 1 year | kachelbunt.at | Strictly necessary |
| django_language | Stores the selected language (DE/EN) | Session | kachelbunt.at | Strictly necessary |
| sessionid | Session identifier; set only when signing in to the site administration, never on the public part of the site | 14 days | kachelbunt.at | Strictly necessary |
| kb_consent | Stores your cookie choice | 6 months | kachelbunt.at | Strictly necessary |
What else is stored on your device
Besides the cookies, this website places exactly one further item on your device: so that moving between pages works without a full reload, the navigation library we use, HTMX, stores the pages of this site you visited most recently in your browser session storage (entry htmx-history-cache, at most ten pages). This cache stays on your device, is transmitted to no one and is deleted as soon as you close the browser tab. It is technically necessary for the function you requested and is therefore likewise exempt from consent. We do not use local storage or IndexedDB. The interactive elements of the site — the menu, the article preview, the map of Austria and the cookie notice — keep their state in the browser memory only and forget it on reload. We also do not use fingerprinting, that is, recognition based on device, browser or font characteristics.
Changing your decision
Consent must be as easy to withdraw as it was to give (Art 7(3) GDPR). Because we currently do not collect any consent, there is nothing to withdraw right now — but we keep the route open anyway: the Change cookie settings item appears in the footer of every page and immediately below. Clicking it resets your stored decision and the cookie notice appears again. As soon as we do collect consent, that is exactly the withdrawal route.
Independently of that, you can delete cookies individually or entirely in your browser at any time and block them for the future. Please note that parts of the website will then no longer work correctly: without the security cookie, forms — including the language switch — can no longer be submitted.
No third-party cookies
This website embeds no external services and therefore sets no third-party cookies either: no analytics cookies, no marketing or advertising cookies, no cookies from social networks, map services or video platforms. The fonts and JavaScript libraries in use are stored on our own server, and the map of Austria is an embedded vector graphic.
Version of this policy
Version: 28 July 2026. The cookie table above is generated from the website configuration and changes automatically with it. If a non-essential cookie category is added, the notice shown on your first visit changes too: it will then actively ask for your consent.
